Pack your palm leaf plates and get set towards serenity…….

Writer: Ayesha JabeenAyesha Jabeen

Hello Readers…I would like to share with you this piece of experience that has etched the feeling of revelation in me.

This weekend, I just got lucky by reluctantly accepting an invitation from an old friend who wanted me and my bestie to join her in her joyous celebration when her adorable son, who sprouted the bud of love in every heart that sauntered by, would complete his convivial first year of his infant life.

But before I get into the significance of this message, I would like to brief you with a bit about me.

Laced up with all those societal trepidation it was indeed a suffering for an ADHD patient like me to survive in the scrawny on-goings that perpetually required stead constancy of insipidness for progress. It was always the ‘directed attention’ that I naively used for the quest of my current ever-changing interests. Psychologists did give a right word that beckoned me when I first learned about it. It was the ‘involuntary attention’. You don’t have to forcibly direct your concentration to the subject if it’s of your interest. And after this, the list of my tasks just grew and grew but again I was contented only for a very short span. The quest ended this weekend when I discovered the one force to which my attention easily and perhaps involuntarily slid towards it.

After a painstaking search for the address of our old friend, me and my best friend found ourselves walking through the muddy channel that was dusked with the fresh bunch of saplings. Her house was located on the green knoll that stood across a wide pasture.

It was a perfect eco-friendly house surrounded by the bonsai pots. The windows were spewed with fragrant flowers and its view covered the flourishing green lawns. They reflected my old friend’s profound love for nature and her genuine intent to spread the light of serenity.

When I saw the richness, the real zest for life evoked in me. This was the one source that filled my soul with the affluence it needed. The fresh air ran into my veins recharging my spirit. It was just a cinch now to cast off the dark thoughts and pessimism and touch the sky. After dwelling in nature I got to savor the peace that opened my mental nodes, filling me with dynamism, activating my unique superficial creativity and stimulating the sense of kindness, empathy and love in me. In that short ad-hoc hiatus, nature calmed my distorted mind and harmonized it with the vibrations of the universe.

Nature never fails to inspire the creative minds. My best friend who had accompanied me here was a pro Kannada poet. After relishing the hot coffee that my old friend served with baked biscuits, she walked across the luscious garden being lost in her own thoughts. She then sat near the yellow painted wooden bird house and started to scribble down the phrases in a snippet that picturesque her imaginations.

Nature restores mental functioning and sparkles creativity. Only when you are enthusiastically insightful over its precious gifts, you will align yourselves with its powerful vibrations.

So then what are you waiting for? Plan a picnic now…………pack your palm leaf plates and get set towards serenity….
